Our Folk Art Line is the beginning of a new era for an ancient craft, and these exquisitely produced prints on paper are Wu Ediciones first achievemente. Among native arts and crafts in the Andes, dating from pre-Columbian times, gourd engraving constitutes one of the most ancient and uninterrupted traditions in Peru. The gourd engraves learned a new technique for a new type of support: metal plate or a sheet of acetate printing matrix to satmp the design on paper. Thus, one of the most traditional creative expressions of the Peruvian Andes suddenly made its appearance as an extraordinary series of modern prints.
