A young and self taught artist expresses his oreference for pop art and the extremel popular in hiper realistic paintings whose subjects deal with themes of the sub-urban culture " Christian Bendayan selects his subjects in bars and discotheques,. His provincial teenagers, transvestites , hairdressers and convicts belong to an unsuspectable sub-world , to the seedy pink neon lighted sewery places, violet , bilious yellow, the glamour kitsch color. All these seduces him and he represents them alternating between two techniques a realistic one, painted impecably , paying attention to volumes and that flat painting , of popular posters with strident colors. This yuxtaposition creates on the spectator a disconcertment in understanding how such different techniques coexist on painting. But Bendayán, originality is based on the support of traditional realist painting to allude to a taste different to that of the establishment.."
